Letter of Success

Dr. Derrick Stanbrdge                                                                                                December 17, 2018

Several years ago I had carpal tunnel surgery on both arms and it did not go well. The doctors found that the surgeries had traumatized my nervous system. It was decided that an implanted spinal cord stimulator was going to be the best treatment. It did help quite a bit but it also caused migraines so I didn't use it.
The rod that was placed in my broken leg bent so I also have different leg lengths which causes leg, back, and hip pain. It was because of this issue I was sent to see you for a leg length measure to have a pair of shoes made that would even out my legs.
When I came in to discuss the results of the leg x-rays, you went above and beyond why I was there and asked why my fingers curled into my wrist and my arms curled up across my chest. I explained to you what the problem was and you asked if you could try something. I had tried everything else so I was all for it.
You want to try neck decompression. you thought it would probably take 2 appointments to show a difference. I did both appointments and after I got home, I realized I could put both arms out straight and hold both hands flat and it didn't hurt!
I was so excited that when I came in for my next appointment, I held both arms out straight with both hands out flat toward you. "I have not been able to do this for over 20 years!", I exclaimed.
I am so grateful that you made the decision to treat the whole patient and not treat only what I was there to see you for.
My arms are still straight and my hands are still flat. It has been 3 years! I will always be grateful that you went above and beyond.

Sincerely,
                 D.L.

Small Changes in your Lifestyle make Large Changes in the Quality of your Life

Everyone is striving to live a full and accomplished life; sometimes it can be hard to do so because of many different everyday challenges. You may struggle with sickness, pain, weight, sadness, or simply feeling good. The problems tend to range from all different types and sizes. When looking for a solution, it can be difficult to find answers that work for you. It’s important to know that you are not alone, and many have and feel the same challenges as you.
     Struggle with Chronic Pain
You might be struggling with chronic pain in your back, knees, shoulders, hands, head, feet, etc. and feel that there is nothing more you can do. There is the day to day changes, like the way you walk or get up in the morning that can help this pain. When we make small tweaks in our daily activity, it can make significant results. When you come into Health for Life, we don’t only get rid of the pain, but Dr. Derrick Stanbridge analyzes the problem to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Feeling Achy or have a Lack of Energy
There are people all around us who feel exhausted or fatigued on every day. Sometimes it is for a week, 2 weeks, a month, or more. There are many different possibilities that can be happening, but to start, we would recommend thinking about your diet. What are you eating? Is it food that benefits you? Is it filled with large amounts of salt or other preservatives? Cleaning up your eating can make a huge difference in your life. Try starting small. You can start watching how much you are eating from each food group. Almost everything can be good or okay if it is monitored in proportions. Sleeping helps you recharge for the next day. Sleeping too much or too little isn’t good for your body either. Look for that happy medium in your life. If you are having a hard time doing so, we can help you figure that out.
     Feeling Sad
Many of these small changes that I have mentioned can help you feel better from the inside out. When you eat healthier and sleep the right amount big changes can take place. Eating healthier and drinking water can truly make you happier and feel fresh. Your skin can feel better and your natural glow will shine brighter. If you are having a hard time sleeping, chiropractic adjustments can help. Chiropractic’s can help you sleep better so you can live more comfortably. Lastly, an easy way to start feeling happy and healthy is laughing. Laughing can be the best medicine. It releases good brain chemicals in the brain that can even relieve pain.
     Try it Out
Here at Health for Life Chiropractic we want you to live a happy, comfortable, and pain-free life. We challenge you to start making small and beneficial changes in your life. High Dosage Laser Therapy (HDLT)

At Health for Life Chiropractic we have many people that come into our office daily with common or uncommon pains and symptoms in all different places of their body. High Dosage Laser Therapy (HDLT) is a technique that we use frequently and highly recommend. HDLT has consistently helped numerous amounts of people.
Every day many people walk around feeling pain, stuck in the same old cycle of getting injections, taking pills, or yet another surgery. Some have not had surgery yet, but simply feel as though they have no other choice. Others go many times a year to get injections that are only causing more problems beneath the surface. The injections relief from pain and decreasing of inflammation is only temporary, but again, they feel they have no other choice. Health for Life Chiropractic is here to assist you and give you another choice, a better alternative, High Dosage Laser Therapy.
HDLT is different from Cold Laser Therapy (Low-Level Laser Therapy/ LLLT). Other then the warm sensation and the results typically being faster, HDLT penetrates its laser deep under the skin in order to reach tissue and damaged cells. It can help decrease inflammation, accelerates cell growth and tissue repair, minimize or get rid of pain, improves the vascular activity, and promotes healing.
We have many patients that come in with lower back pain and have started the HDLT plan. They have reported significant changes in their pain level and have since recommended HDLT to many others. The laser has helped patients heal from their neck, down their spine, shoulders down to their hands, and their hips down to their feet. If you are considering High Dosage Laser Therapy and have more questions, call our office!

Holiday time at Health for Life

If you haven't come into Health For Life lately, you are missing out! We have so many fun things happening around our office during the holidays, including our annual food drive! This year we are teaming up again with the Utah Food Bank to help bring food to Utah families in need. Our food drive is running from now until December 20th, and if you bring in a canned/non-perishable we will waive one co-pay (per person). We also are running a special on our fantastic massages! For $135 you get 3 hours worth of massage, that makes it about $45 per hour. How awesome is that !
